Commit to Start

is a conversation for graduating HBS students committed to making a difference in their communities.

We are inspired by Harvard Business School's mission to "educate leaders who make a difference in the world." As soon-to-be alumni, we aim to support each other in creating concrete plans for beginning to make a difference in our first year after graduation.

First begun in April 2015, Commit to Start has three main aims: 1) we ask our classmates to think about how each plans to "make a difference" in the world in his or her career, 2) we generate commitments for ways to act on this vision for impact in the first year after graduation, and 3) link others to resources empowering them to act on their commitments, including connections with a community of HBS graduates in their new cities, introductions to alumni networks who share their interests and passions, and encouragement from peers towards their goals at various milestones through the year.

Commit to Start is a student-led and administration-supported initiative at Harvard Business School.
